FAQ
Can the NPX be used with the TesiraFORTE X?Yes, the NPX will work with all Tesira server-class devices. What networked audio protocols does the NPX support? All NPX models support AVB and Dante networked audio protocols. Paging stations in the same system must use the same protocol which is selected in the Tesira software at the time of configuration. What considerations are there when using a particular networked audio protocol?AVB requires the use of AVNu certified switches or one of our recommendations locatedhere. Dante requires a compatible network as per Audinate recommendations. Integrating to AVB only Tesira systems requires the use of a TesiraCONNECT TC-5D. PoE requirements from the switches should be considered based on the number of NPX devices and other PoE devices in the system. How many paging stations does a Tesira system with NPX support?A Tesira system supports up to 16 paging stations per configuration. How many paging zones does a Tesira system with NPX support?A Tesira system supports up to 32 paging zones per configuration. How many page codes can be configured on the NPX?Up to four page codes can be configured for NPX H1040/G1040 and up to 999 page codes for H1100/G1100.How many recorded messages and preambles does the NPX store? All NPX models store up to 10 recorded messages and 10 preambles (5 are preloaded and cannot be erased). The shared total of available audio for messages and preambles is 50 minutes. Can messages currently on a paging station be extracted?Yes, they are available as wav files through the paging station Device Maintenance function. Can messages be duplicated across paging stations? No, paging stations do not share page codes and are treated as separate entities. Page codes can be downloaded and uploaded to additional stations through the paging station Device Maintenance function. What file formats can be used to upload messages and preambles?Users may upload wav, mp3 and m4a file formats to the NPX.Can the paging station be locked with a pin code? Is that pin code able to restrict the page codes available to individual operators?Paging stations support the use of pin codes to restrict access from unauthorised persons. The available page codes remain the same for all operators.Do paging stations participate in the event logs and do they report if there is a problem?Device health, availability and other events that may affect the Tesira system are automatically logged. Can the paging stations be used for emergency messaging?Tesira is not designed as a life safety system. For life safety, fire panel integration and redundancy we recommend moving to a Biamp Vocia paging solution. Can a recorded message in an NPX be played back from the event scheduler or logic input?Yes, a page code assigned to an NPX can be included in a special preset function which plays the message inside the page code. The preset can be recalled in Tesira by using the event scheduler or a logic function resulting in the page code being recalled and its message played.
